On Tuesday, Duquesne announced that former Dukes’ basketball player Andrei Savrasov signed a professional contract recently.
Savrasov signed with BC Irkut Irkutsk, a professional team that plays in his home country of Russia.

Savrasov, a Saint Petersburg, Russia native, is a 6-foot-7 forward who spent one year with the Duquesne program, starting 12 games this past season. He began his collegiate career with the Texas Tech Red Raiders in 2019-20, before transferring to Georgia Southern. There, he became one of the top players on the roster, eventually averaging as many as 14 points and seven rebounds per game in his final season there in 2022-23.
Savrasov then transferred to Duquesne out of the transfer portal, and appeared in 20 games for Keith Dambrot’s squad. He played 16.5 minutes per game for the Dukes, shooting 48% from the field and averaging nearly six points per game. Savrasov also brought in 3.5 rebounds per game on average.
Savrasov’s biggest offensive game of the year came in a tight win over Bradley in Akron. There, Savrasov scored a season-best 17 points on 8-for-9 shooting from the field. He also grabbed five rebounds, dished out two assists, and grabbed four steals for the Dukes in the win. Savrasov played more than ten minutes in a game just three times after the new year as the Dukes had figured out other front court rotations. However, his mark on the Dukes’ historic team was a big one throughout the entire year.
“Savrasov is the fourth different member of the Dukes to ink a pro contract this summer, joining former forward Tre Williams (QSTA United) and former guards Tevin Brewer (Kipinä Äänekoski) and Jimmy Clark III, who signed over the weekend with Bnei Herzliya Basket of the Israeli Premier League,” said Duquesne in a press release.
