On Monday, the Robert Morris basketball team’s social media account introduced one of the new Colonials on this year’s roster.

The post introduced Amarion Dickerson, a 6-foot-7 wing out of Cleveland, Ohio. He recently played for Mineral Area College at the junior college level of college basketball. Dickerson was a two-year starter for the program, and ended his JUCO career as the 2023-24 leader in blocked shots on the defensive end. Dickerson averaged 12.6 points per contest as a second-year JUCO player for Mineral Area. The redshirt junior will wear No. 3 for the Colonials in his first season in Moon Township.

“Definitely, to win the conference and get a chance to play in March Madness with my brothers,” Dickerson answered when asked about his goals for this upcoming season, his first at Robert Morris.

Dickerson joins NC State transfer Kam Woods, as well as Ismael Plet, Josh Omojafo, and D.J. Smith.

Robert Morris finished last season 10-22 overall (6-14 Horizon). The Colonials are heading into year 15 of the Andy Toole era, and year five in the Horizon League after switching conferences from the Northeast Conference. The program has had four-straight losing seasons and has only had two seasons with a winning percentage greater than .500 since 2015. Robert Morris last made the NCAA Tournament in the 2014-15 season.

Smith was the most recent addition to the roster.

Smith, a Little Rock, Arkansas native, began his collegiate basketball career at Arkansas-Little Rock, a D1 program. There, he averaged six points per game as a freshman, starting 21 games and appearing in 27. Then, as a sophomore, Smith started 31 games, averaging over 30 minutes per contest.
