Another former Pitt basketball player is on the move in his professional career.
Greg Elliott, who played for the Panthers in 2022-23, has signed with a new team in Denmark, Team FOG Næstved.

“Greg Elliott fits really well into the concept that I want to play after,” the team’s coach new coach David Pavlakovich said [translated] in a press release via Instagram. “Greg has some great playing qualities especially offense and I have gotten good feedback from the two schools. I’m looking forward to getting him on the floor and believe that he can be a strong player for us. ”
“Team FOG’s organization, an American coach, the game concept and the success of the past seasons have helped convince me that I should go to Næstved,” Elliott said. “I’m looking forward to the season. ”
Team FOG competes in the BasketLigaen in Denmark. Last year’s roster featured seven players with American ties.
Elliott, a 6-foot-3 guard, shined in a wing role for the Panthers in the 2022-23 season. The Detroit native started 36 games, scoring 10.4 points per game and hitting 2.1 threes per game. Elliott hit 42% of his three-point attempts, filling a crucial role for Jeff Capel’s squad that advanced to the Round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament.
Elliott spent the first four years of his career at Marquette, playing 114 games for the Golden Eagles but struggling to reach his full potential due to injuries. With a fresh start at Pitt, Elliott shined alongside fellow veterans Nelly Cummings and Jamarius Burton in the back court.
Elliott played his first professional basketball season last year, competing in Denmark. According to ProBallers and EuroBasket,Elliott played just seven games for the Svendborg Rabbits, scoring 12 points per game on 46% from three-point range.
