PITTSBURGH — Week 1 preparation continues on the South Side for the Pitt Panthers with game day nearing against Kent State on Aug. 31.
Pitt defensive coordinator Randy Bates and several players met with the media to discuss the outlook of the team heading into the season opener.
Bates, who enters his seventh season with the Panthers, discussed the defensive two-deep depth chart and those who will make an impact throughout the season.
Redshirt sophomore defensive end Jimmy Scott and redshirt senior cornerback Rashad Battle detailed the defense and how their respective units have shaped up during fall camp.
Offensively, redshirt senior left tackle and captain Branson Taylor and redshirt senior tight end and Oregon State transfer Jake Overman touched base on how the offense has formed together over the past month.
