Pitt has been actively reaching out to prospects in the class of 2026 since June 15, the first day that players in that class were able to directly hear from coaches.
The most recent player that PSN has tracked down with interest from Pitt comes from Florida.
According to a source, the Pitt staff has reached out to Landyn Colyer, a 6-foot-5 small forward prospect out of Tampa, Florida. Colyer holds offers from schools such as Florida State, Washington, Ole Miss, and others, with interest from LSU, Pitt, South Carolina, BYU, and Providence, among others.
Colyer plays for North Tampa Christian Academy, and is a four-star prospect rated a 90 overall by On3Sports.
Pitt has contacted at least 16 other players in the class of 2026 by PSN’s count. That list includes the one player in the class with an early offer from the staff: Quincy Wadley, a 6-foot-4 guard.
Most of the recent Pitt basketball recruiting news has come via the class of 2025. Pitt is currently in several top-school lists for 2025 prospects, including Meleek Thomas, Derek Dixon, Amari Evans, Isaiah Denis and others.
Denis, a guard prospect out of Davidson, North Carolina, will be on campus this upcoming weekend for his official visit.
Denis is a 6-foot-5 combo guard. At the time that he received his offer from Pitt (just two months ago), Denis was a three-star prospect on 247 Sports who was ranked as the No. 23 combo guard in the class and unranked nationally. Now, he has skyrocketed up recruiting rankings with an elite performance for Team CP3 on the Nike EYBL circuit.
Denis is now ranked as the No. 41 player in the class of 2025 and the No. 8 combo guard, per 247. He has jumped up to four-star status.
