UPDATE, 7 AM: Former Pitt wide receiver Tyler Boyd will have an extra responsibility with the Tennessee Titans.
Boyd, who signed a 1-year, $2.4 million contact with the Titans this offseason, will serve as the Titans’ emergency quarterback this season, according to head coach Brian Callahan. In the event starter Will Levis or backup Mason Rudolph go down in a game, Boyd will be ready.
Boyd is entering his ninth NFL season, his first outside of the Cincinnati Bengals’ organization. He’s caught 513 passes for 6,000 yards (11.7 yards per reception) and 31 touchdowns in his NFL career.
