He spent two years with the Orange. The 6-foot-3 guard earned All-Freshman team honors in his rookie year, playing 33.5 minutes per game and averaging 16.3 points and 4.6 assists per game while shooting 44% from the field and 30% from three-point range. As a sophomore, his point production improved to 18.8 points per game. Mintz’s steal averages surpassed two per game, sitting at 2.1 per contest. This past season in that sophomore campaign, Mintz led Syracuse to a 20-12 (11-9 ACC) record, an improvement from his freshman season.

Pitt ended up signing Dior Johnson as the lone guard in its 2022 high-school recruiting class. The Panthers went out and earned commitments from transfers Nelly Cummings and Greg Elliott that offseason, which led in part to an NCAA Tournament run in the next season. Johnson never appeared in a game for the Panthers, and is now on the UCF basketball team after spending this past season at Clarendon College (JUCO).
