PITTSBURGH — Pitt football head coach Pat Narduzzi took to the podium Monday afternoon on the South Side to address the media.
Narduzzi opened up his press conference by addressing the Heather Lyke news and talked about how supportive Lyke has been over Narduzzi’s tenure with the university. He then offered his belief in Pitt Chancellor Joan Gabel and the future of the program.
After briefly touching on the news surrounding the athletic department, Narduzzi shifted to recapping the performance against Cincinnati. The tenth-year head coach discussed the adjustments both on offense and defense that led to the historic comeback.
He further talked about how redshirt freshman quarterback Eli Holstein handled himself during the game that led to the victory and his apology he offered after the game.
Running back Desmond Reid and wide receiver Konata Mumpfield were talking points as well as Narduzzi expressed how big their historic performances were against Cincinnati.
Narduzzi then provided his thoughts on the upcoming matchup against West Virginia in the Backyard Brawl. He shed light on how his team is preparing for the matchup after how things transpired a year ago.

COACH: Please put 2 guys back to return punts!!! I’m gonna keep posting this until you “look at the film” and see how much field position we lose by letting the ball hit the ground over and over, not to mention the fumbles.
