PITTSBURGH — Pitt’s comeback win over Cincinnati on Saturday was fueled by a multitude of contributions, including from wide receiver Konata Mumpfield.
Mumpfield took to the podium on Tuesday, along with several other Panthers to discuss Pitt’s victory at Nippert Stadium, along with the upcoming Backyard Brawl with West Virginia.
The senior wideout hauled in five passes for 123 receiving yards and two all-important touchdowns. It was Mumpfield’s first 100-plus receiving yard performance in a Pitt uniform.
Talking with the media, Mumpfield highlighted his performance, what worked for him and how the Panthers were able to string together the comeback.
Another key piece offensively in the victory was running back Desmond Reid, who became the first player to record a 100-plus rushing and 100-plus receiving game in program history. He helped pull within two points on a 56-yard catch and run for a touchdown.
Reid further elaborated on his performance and what he has learned so far about the Backyard Brawl.
Defensively, defensive end Nate Matlack and linebacker Kyle Louis discussed how the defense adjusted throughout the game and how the Panthers kept morale high, even when trailing by 21 points.
