Pitt Recruits Attending the Backyard Brawl

Published

Saturday will be a huge day on Pittsburgh’s North Shore as Pitt hosts West Virginia in another edition of the Backyard Brawl.

Pat Narduzzi’s team has a chance to already match last seasons win total and start the 2024 season 3-0.

The Pitt athletic department has already announced that the game is a sellout, which will make the pregame and in-game atmosphere special.

That will no doubt benefit the Pitt team along with their recruiting efforts. Not surprisingly, the Panther staff has worked hard to get top level high school recruits to attend the game.

In taking a look at the guest list, it’s dominated by young, high-level WPIAL talent along with current 2025 Pitt commitments.

Here are names that PSN has been able to confirm:

*Gabriel Jenkins: 2027 cornerback Imani Christian Academy. Offers from Michigan State, Penn State, Pitt, Central Florida and West Virginia.

*Matt Sieg: 2026 4-star athlete from Fort Cherry High School. Offers from Maryland, Michigan State, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Penn State, Pitt, Rutgers, Syracuse, USC, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
