Pitt Women’s Basketball Earns Another Commitment

Theresa Hagans, a 5-foot-8 point guard out of Clinton, Maryland committed to the Pitt Panthers, she announced on Instagram and Twitter.

On Tuesday, Pitt’s women’s basketball program earned another commitment from a high-school prospect.

Theresa Hagans, a 5-foot-8 point guard out of Clinton, Maryland committed to the Panthers, she announced on Instagram and Twitter. Hagans plays her high-school ball for Bishop Ireton in Alexandria, Virginia, and played her summer ball for Boo Williams on Nike’s EYBL circuit.

“First and foremost thank you to the man above, I also want to thank my family, all my trainers, and coaches/mentors who helped me through these long tough years,” Hagans said on Instagram. “With that being said I’m officially taking my talents to University of Pittsburgh #hailtopitt 💙💛 @pitt_wbb.”

Pitt adds another prospect to its 2025 class that already includes Macie Arzner, a guard prospect out of Oregon. The Panthers’ staff has offered more than 20 high-school prospects in the classes of 2025, 2026, and 2027. Check out the updated Pitt women’s basketball recruiting board at the link below!

Pitt Women’s Basketball Recruiting Board

Pittsburgh Sports Now has now launched the Pitt women’s basketball recruiting board for fans to track all of the programs offers at the high-school level.

Pitt women’s basketball is heading into year two under head coach Tory Verdi. The Panthers finished last season with an 8-24 record, going 2-16 in ACC competition. Verdi and his staff went out and recruited several new players to add to this year’s squad, bringing in high-major transfers Mikayla Johnson (Colorado), Brooklynn Miles (Kentucky), Khadija Faye (Texas), MaKayla Elmore (Clemson), and Amiya Jenkins (Kentucky).
