**For the second time today, the Temple football program has offered a player in the WPIAL. First an offer went to Central Valley 2026 4-star OT Brendan Alexander and now, 2026 linebacker Colsen Gatten from Central Catholic. The 3-star recruit holds other offers from Pitt, Duke, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Penn State, Syracuse, Tennessee, Texas A&M, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
Update (1:47 PM)- After being forecasted to finish near the bottom of the ACC, although league play hasn’t started yet, the Pitt Panthers have started out with an impressive 3-0 start. Two of those wins are over Power Four teams in Cincinnati and West Virginia. After receiving some recognition from ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit, the Panthers are getting mentioned by CBS Sports.
Update (10:30 AM)-
**This Saturday, 2025 punter Kaemon Tijerina from Redford, Michigan will be visiting for the Pitt/Youngstown State game. Tijerina received an offer from Jonathan Bronowski and Pitt back on June 18th. Pitt’s punting situation has been up and down the last couple of years, so this is a situation to monitor.
UPDATE (10:18 AM)– A new offer comes in this morning for talented Central Valley 2026 4-star OL Brendan Alexander. Along with Temple, Alexander holds offers from Pitt, Akron, Arkansas, Boston College, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, UConn, Duke, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Miami Ohio, Michigan State, NC State, Penn State, South Florida, Stanford, Syracuse, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and Wisconsin. Over the weekend, Alexander was one of the many WPIAL recruits in attendance for the Backyard Brawl.

UPDATE (8:17 AM)– A big start of the year for former Pitt and current Minnesota Vikings DE Patrick Jones. After two games, Jones is tied for second in the NFL with 4 sacks. Detroit Lions DE Aiden Hutchinson leads the league with 5.5 sacks, while Jones and New England Patriot Keon White are tied with 4 sacks a piece. Jones was selected by the Vikings in the 3rd round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
