Duquesne Earns Commitment from Ohio Guard Arness Lawson

Over the weekend, Duquesne hosted one of its top targets as Arness Lawson took an official visit to check out Dru Joyce's program.

Duquesne basketball earned a commitment from high school prospect Arness Lawson on Thursday afternoon.

The 6-foot-2 guard is a Pickerington, Ohio native, and plays his high-school ball for Pickerington North.

He received an offer from the Dukes back on May 6, 2024, and on Aug. 19, he included Duquesne in his top-four list along with Tulane, Northern Kentucky, and Utah State.

Playing for All-Ohio Red this summer on the Nike EYBL circuit, Lawson shined in his role. He ranked No. 10 at the highest level of AAU ball on the circuit in terms of offensive efficiency among players with at least 16 possessions per game. Joined by Cam Boozer, AJ Dybantsa, and other five-star prospects on the list, Lawson made a great impression averaging 0.98 points per possession, per Synergy.
