Pitt commit Elijah Dotson.

Back in May when four-star recruit Elijah Dotson committed to the Panthers, Pat Narduzzi and the Pitt football staff knew it wouldn’t be the end of his recruitment.

National Signing Day isn’t until December, so Pitt was fully prepared for him to receive interest and offers from other programs.

That is exactly what is happening.

A couple weeks after receiving an offer from the Iowa Hawkeyes, Dotson has picked up an offer from an SEC program.

Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers extended the talented defensive back an offer on Thursday. This is interesting because Dotson’s teammate at Belleville High School in Michigan is LSU 2025 five-star quarterback commit Bryce Underwood. Although he’s being recruited to Pitt as a defensive back, Dotson is also fully capable of playing wide receiver in college.

Last weekend, Dotson made a return visit to Pittsburgh in order to take in the Backyard Brawl between Pitt and West Virginia and was able to catch up with other Pitt 2025 commitments and his chief recruiter Archie Collins.

This is no doubt something that Collins and Pitt want to hear but at the same time, it’s not unexpected considering the talent level that Dotson possesses.

According to the latest recruiting rankings, Rivals.com rates Dotson as the No. 6 overall prospect in Michigan, while 247 Sports has him at No. 3 and one of the Top 20 safeties in the Class of 2025.

Dotson committed to Pitt over offers from Wisconsin, Penn State, Michigan, Tennessee, Michigan State, Louisville, Kansas, Indiana and Illinois.
