PITTSBURGH — Eli Holstein has made some nice throws in his three-and-a-half weeks as the Pitt starter, but his latest touchdown toss may be the prettiest.
Holstein dropped back with just under two minutes left in the second quarter, spotted Censere Lee streaking downfield with some separation from the YSU defensive back and launched a ball up for Lee.
Lee caught the perfectly thrown ball and raced 82 yards for a massive touchdown.
It was the longest Pitt touchdown since Kenny Pickett and Maurice Ffrench connected on a 96-yard touchdown against Eastern Michigan in the 2019 Quick Lane Bowl.
Holstein finished the first half against YSU with a video game-like stat line: completing 12-of-16 pass attempts (75%) for 232 yards and three touchdowns, adding 49 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
Pitt racked up 370 yards in the first half against YSU, scoring 42 points in the process.
