PITTSBURGH — Pitt football head coach Pat Narduzzi met with the media following his team’s dominant 73-17 win over Youngstown State Saturday afternoon at Acrisure Stadium.

It was an emotional game for Narduzzi as his late father Bill Narduzzi served as the YSU head coach from 1975-85. Pat spoke about the short-sleeve shirt and tie he wore that replicated the style his father would sport as a head coach.

Narduzzi addressed how important it was for the Panthers to play their most complete game of the season against a YSU team that has given the Pitt program fits over the year. He labeled it as a statement win as Pitt heads into a bye week before transitioning to ACC play and North Carolina.

The tenth-year head coach also detailed the play of his quarterback Eli Holstein and how he continues to mature and be crictical of his errors week in and week out.

Running back Daniel Carter was also a talking point for Narduzzi and what he has meant to the program over the years after compiling his best game in a Panther uniform.

Narduzzi also discussed the play of linebacker Kyle Louis and how he has become a key figure on the defensive side of the ball.

Great start! As long as Eli runs, this offense will be hard to stop. We still need to catch the punts before they hit the ground and roll 20 yds, as it kills field position.
