The Pitt coaching staff hit the road this week riding the high of a 4-0 start, and while the majority of offers are being extended to recruits in future classes, the Panthers have identified a target in the class of 2025.

Pitt extended an offer Monday night to Nigel Pringle, a 6-foot-2, 180-pound three-star cornerback from North Shore in Houston, Tx. in the class of 2025.

Pringle is currently committed, but the Pitt coaching staff has made the initial headway to at least see where he stands in his recruiting process.

Pringle committed to Arkansas in July over offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas State, Houston, Kansas, Louisiana Tech, Memphis, Oregon, Rice, San Diego State, Stephen F. Austin, Texas State, Tulsa, UCF, UTSA and Washington State.

Randy Bates, who has been one of the main Pitt coaches to dip into Texas recruiting, extended the offer to Pringle. It’s notable that Pringle attends the same high school as current commit Jordan Fields, too. Bates has likely checked in on Pringle while he’s been in town to see Fields over the last year.

It’s a new relationship, so it bears watching just how deeply the Pitt coaching staff digs with Pringle, but he’s a defensive back that’s clearly on the radar.

Pringle is a long, rangy defensive back who fits the mold of a Pitt player. He’s aggressive, versatile and could likely play any position in the Pitt secondary. It makes sense why the coaching staff has identified him as one of the later potential targets in the class.

247Sports rates Pringle as the 97th-ranked athlete and 169th-ranked recruit from Texas while On3 rates him as the 96th-ranked cornerback and 166th-ranked recruit from Texas. Rivals hasn’t ranked him yet, but he holds a 5.6 Rivals Rating.

Pitt holds five defensive back commitments in the class of 2025. The class includes three-star cornerback Cole Woodson (Haymarket, Va.), three-star cornerback Shawn Lee Jr. (Harrisburg, Pa.), four-star cornerback Mason Alexander (Fishers, Ind.), four-star Elijah Dotson (Detroit, Mich.) and three-star safety Joshua Guerrier (Ocoee, Fla.)

Pringle would be a nice addition to the class. He fits the mold of what the Pitt coaching staff likes, but it remains uncertain just how deeply the relationship will develop yet.
