At 8:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, it was still early in Aliquippa running back Sa’Nir Brooks’ morning school routine and he was still waiting on a Pitt offer.
“I’m a Pittsburgh kid. I would like an offer from Pitt,” Brooks told Pittsburgh Sports Now Tuesday morning.

That changed an hour later when he was officially offered by Pat Narduzzi and the Pitt Panthers.
Brooks – a 5-foot-10, 190-pound running back in the class of 2027 – is a fast-rising prospect out of the WPIAL.
Pitt’s offer comes three days after receiving one from Syracuse. He also holds scholarship offers from West Virginia, Akron and Miami (Oh.).
Like many recruits from around the area, Brooks was in attendance at Acrisure Stadium when Pitt defeated West Virginia in the Backyard Brawl, which left a strong impression on the future offeree.
“That game was great. The ending was phenomenal how Pitt pulled through. It showed a lot,” Brooks said.
Over the past few months, Brooks has had a few conversations with the Pitt staff about his game.
“They said they like the way I play,” Brooks said. “I sent my film to them. When I was at the camp, they said they liked how I moved, fast kid and determined.”
As a sophomore at Aliquippa, Brooks is sharing snaps with four-star Penn State commit Tiqwai Hayes. However, Hayes has been sidelined with an injury in the last two games, giving way for Brooks to lead the ground game.
Against Mars on Sept. 13, Brooks ran for 150 yards on 19 carries and three touchdowns as the Quips defeated Mars 42-17.
“That game for me, it was me trying to prove that I can step up no matter what.”
The following week, Brooks ran for 29 yards and a touchdown, while hauling in two receptions for 25 yards in a setback against Penn Hills.
Sharing a backfield with big-time D-I recruit like Hayes, Brooks is trying to absorb as much knowledge as possible.
“Tikey’s a great kid. Can learn a lot from him. He’s always teaching me, giving me advice. He’s always teaching me, working on my steps, telling me I always got to slow the game down and be patient out there to let the holes develop.”
With the Pitt offer, Brooks become the second Aliquippa Quips sophomore to receive one from the Panthers as four-star Larry Moon III picked up an offer back in June of 2023.
Keep these Quips home!
