The Baltimore Ravens will recognize Washington Wizards rookie and Baltimore native Bub Carrington before Sunday night’s game against the Buffalo Bills.
Carrington finished NBA Summer League action with the following averages across his five games: 15.8 points per game, 7.4 rebounds per game, and 5.2 assists per game. He earned Second Team All-Summer League honors with his performance throughout the schedule in Vegas.
Carrington started 33 games for Pitt as a rookie, averaging 13.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game. The Baltimore, Maryland native shot 41% from the field and 32% from three-point range in his freshman campaign, and alongside Jaland Lowe and Ishmael Leggett, starred for the Panthers in the back court. He became Jeff Capel’s first one-and-done prospect at Pitt.
In his final game of the summer league stint, Carrington filled up the stat sheet. In a win over the Bucks, the Wizards clinched a 3-2 Summer League record and Carrington contributed 13 points, 15 rebounds, and five assists.
“What I love about his game today? 15 rebounds & 5 assists,” Wizards’ head coach Cody Toppert said about Carrington’s final performance in the NBA Summer League. “I think that’s huge. That just tells you the type of guy he is. He’s gritty, he can grab-and-go on the defensive glass…He’s the guy that just loves those big moments.”
