Pitt basketball’s social media team has been providing elite content throughout the offseason.
On Sunday, the team shared numerous videos of Pitt’s recent practice action, including a clip of sophomore guard Jaland Lowe setting up transfer forward Cam Corhen with a nice behind-the-back dish.
Lowe and Corhen are very familiar with each other’s games, as the pair played AAU basketball together back in Texas while they were in high school.

Pitt recently shared additional clips of the Lowe-Corhen connection, as well.
Lowe averaged 9.6 points and 3.3 assists per game as a rookie. However, he kicked his production up a notch once he was inserted into the starting lineup. Lowe started 19 games on the year, and in those games, he averaged the following stats: 13.1 points per game, 4.1 assists per game, 1.6 turnovers per game, 4.5 field goals per game, and 1.3 three pointers per game. He shot 40.7% from the field across those 19 games, and 40.3% from three-point range across those 19 games.
His 3.3 assists per game ranked 15th in the ACC. His assist–to-turnover ratio was top-five, ranking fourth in the league. Virginia’s Reece Beekman was the lone ACC player last season to average more than five assists per game (6.2).
Corhen is a 6-foot-10 forward who played the past two seasons for Florida State. The Allen, Texas native started 33 games in his Seminole career, and despite a small decrease in minutes per game this past season, he increased his scoring production as a sophomore. This past year, Corhen scored 9.4 points per game on 63% from the field.
In his last game against the Panthers, Corhen exploded for a career-high 25 points and eight rebounds, going 8 for 12 from the field and 9 of 10 from the free-throw line. With several months until game one of the season, I felt it’d be a good time to dive in to that performance and look at what he did right in his last appearance in the Petersen Events Center.

From Houston Hoops to the Steel City: Jaland Lowe and Cam Corhen Team Up Once Again
Pitt is heading into year seven of the Jeff Capel-era, coming off a second-straight 20-win season. The Panthers finished last year 22-11, but said goodbye to stars Bub Carrington (Washington Wizards) and Blake Hinson (Golden State Warriors) as they went off to the professional level. In addition, the Panthers said goodbye to Federiko Federiko (Texas Tech) and William Jeffress (Louisiana Tech), as both players transferred out this past spring. Pitt returns key players Lowe, Ishmael Leggett, and Zack Austin, among others. The staff also brought in a talented group of newcomers, headlined by transfers Corhen (Florida State) and Damian Dunn (Houston) as well as freshmen Brandin “Beebah” Cummings, Amdy Ndiaye, and Amsal Delalic.
Delalic is the lone Panther with an injury, as of Sept. 29. Last week, the team announced that he will miss six weeks of action leading up to game one of the season. See the details below.
