Pittsburgh High School Recruiting Board: October 1 Update

Published

on

As we get closer to high-school basketball season, here are some updates regarding the Pittsburgh high-school basketball recruiting board.

As we get closer to high-school basketball season, I wanted to provide some updates regarding the Pittsburgh high-school basketball recruiting board.

There are three prospects committed to Division One programs playing high-school ball in the area this year: Tyler Robbins (Miami OH), Ama Tening Sow (UT Martin), and Courtney Wallace (Yale).

Several others in the area currently hold Division One offers: Josh Pratt (Aliquippa), RJ Sledge (Imani Christian), Amere Brown (Woodland Hills), Scoop Smith (Woodland Hills), Mikey Santicola (Moon), Kieshaun Demus (Imani Christian – ruled ineligible for this season), Grant Spacciapolli (Pine Richland), and Trey Schachter (Allderdice).

There have also been a handful of local players to receive offers from non-D1 programs lately, including Calvin Winfrey (Uniontown), Calvin Vento (Central Catholic), Jayden Davis (Chartiers Valley), Tori Grooms (Uniontown), Enzo Khalil (Central Catholic), Rowan Carmichael (Avonworth), and Owen Maddalon (North Catholic).

Two of Pittsburgh’s own have become highly-touted recruits as well. Meleek Thomas, previously at Lincoln Park, is now at Overtime Elite in Atlanta. He is a five-star recruit looking at Pitt, Arkansas, Alabama, UConn, and other schools in his recruitment. Amari Evans is also at Overtime Elite, and is considering Pitt, Tennessee, and Xavier. He previously played at Bishop Canevin in Pittsburgh.

Check out the full Pittsburgh high-school basketball recruiting board to see which schools have offered those players, which schools are interested in them, and more.

As always, if there are any players with current collegiate interest in the area that are missing from the board, please reach out to @michalowskicbb on Twitter. The goal of this board is to provide exposure for players in the area and to continue to grow the hoops scene in Western PA.
