Kiyan Anthony, the son of NBA great Carmelo Anthony, released his top-three schools list on Tuesday.

Anthony, who received an offer from Pitt on June 15, 2023, has not been considering the Panthers for a while. He previously cut his recruitment down at least one time, cutting the Panthers then. However, he is still considering one of Pitt’s ACC foes: Syracuse.

Anthony announced that he will consider Syracuse, Auburn, and USC for his college commitment.

The 6-foot-5 guard prospect is one of the top-30 prospects in the nation, according to 247 Sports. The popular rankings website has Anthony listed as the No. 28 overall player, the No. 6 overall shooting guard, and the No. 1 overall player from New York state in the class of 2025. With this second cut, Anthony, who plays for Long Island Lutheran, eliminated Florida State, Ohio State, and Rutgers from his recruitment. Those three made his previous final six list along with the three that qualified for the final three.

Pitt has one commitment in the 2025 class so far with Omari Witherspoon verbally pledged to the program.

Witherspoon, ranked just outside the top-100, is a legitimate four-star prospect out of D.C. and appears to be right up Pitt’s alley in terms of his skill set.

Outside of Witherspoon, the Panthers are still involved with several other recruits in the class of 2025.

Meleek Thomas, Amari Evans, Isaiah Denis, Davion Hannah, and Nikola Bundalo all still have Pitt in top-school lists at the moment.

MELEEK THOMAS – TOP SEVEN

Thomas cut his list to the following schools: UConn, Kansas, Alabama, Pitt, Auburn, Kansas State, and Arkansas. The Pittsburgh native and five-star prospect now plays for Overtime Elite.

AMARI EVANS – TOP THREE

Evans, the Pittsburgh native, is considering Pitt, Tennessee, and Xavier. He will commit to a program on Nov. 1.

2025 four-star guard prospect Amari Evans took an official visit to Tennessee this past weekend. He is a top Pittsburgh target, too.

NIKOLA BUNDALO – TOP EIGHT

The 6-foot-10 Bundalo announced that his top list included the following schools: Pitt, Kentucky, North Carolina, UConn, Ohio State, Michigan State, Xavier, and Texas.
