Narduzzi highlighted his team’s performance at North Carolina, including the play of safety Javon McIntyre and running back Rodney Hammond Jr. Narduzzi says that Hammond received an increased number of reps in practice this week and will be more involved in the offensive game plan this week after only playing 12 snaps against the Tar Heels.
Redshirt freshman quarterback Eli Holstein was emphasized during the press conference about matching up against a Cal team that has forced a nation- best 11 interceptions. Narduzzi explained what has made Holstein so mature at a young age and how he has learned from his mistakes, including his first thrown pick-six against North Carolina.
Looking at Saturday’s matchup, Narduzzi pointed out some of the keys for the Panthers in order to limit the Golden Bears’ offensive weapons. He also discussed what this matchup is like playing a team from the west coast and how travel will impact Cal and the Panthers in the future.
