Meleek Thomas is currently playing for the City Reapers, a team in Overtime Elite’s league.
Thomas, a five-star prospect, is a Pittsburgh native who transferred down to OTE after beginning his high-school career at Lincoln Park in the WPIAL. He is now a few games into his OTE career as the league has launched its preseason schedule.
In Wednesday night’s 108-72 win over Air Nado, Thomas delivered an excellent performance with 23 points, nine rebounds, and four assists. He was 7 for 7 from two-point range and 2 for 5 from three-point range. Thomas also had three steals.

Prior to that game, in his debut this past Tuesday night, in a 94-84 win over Florida Rebels, the City Reapers looked to Thomas and fellow Pittsburgh native Amari Evans for offensive firepower. Thomas led the way with 26 points, seven rebounds, and four steals, while Evans added 19 points, 11 rebounds, and four steals.
Thomas went 10 for 17 from the field and 3 for 7 from three-point range, while Evans went 4 for 9 from the field and 8 for 11 from the free-throw line.

Both Thomas and Evans are still considering Pitt, among other schools. the former WPIAL prospects are now playing in Atlanta, but are both fielding national recruitments while still staying connected to their hometown basketball program. Pitt has hosted both Thomas and Evans on official visits, and is currently in each player’s top-school lists.
Evans currently has a top three of Tennessee, Pitt, and Xavier, with a commitment date of Nov. 2 set.
Thomas has a top seven of UConn, Pitt, Kansas, Kansas State, Arkansas, Auburn. and Alabama.
What a talented young man. He is definitely headed for the show! It would be such a great story for him to help the Pitt Basketball rebuild and then go to the Pro’s like Carrington. I hope he gives Pitt a chance…
