It’s hard to find a more explosive playmaker in high school football than DaMarion Fowlkes.
The 5-foot-10, 170-pound three-star Pitt commit is in the midst of a standout senior season at Good Counsel High in Olney, Md. But his most recent tape stands out even more than usual.

Fowlkes caught just four passes, but he turned those four catches into 172 yards and two touchdowns — a 72-yard and a 77-yard touchdown.
It’s the continuation of a senior season in which Fowlkes has scored touchdowns in just about every way. He scored three return touchdowns (an 85-yard kick return and 46-yard and 81-yard punt return) just a couple of weeks ago. Fowlkes is one of the most explosive recruits in the class.
Fowlkes committed to Pitt over the summer, following an official visit to Pittsburgh, and he spent a lot of time with Poppi Williams.
“Him coming from the school coach Kade came from and knowing that offense, he really explained it to me well,” Fowlkes told Pittsburgh Sports Now over the summer. “We sat down and watched a little bit of his film and he showed me the ins and outs of the offense, and it really just opened my mind and blew my mind how great that offense works.”
Fowlkes was given an inside look into how he’s going to fit into the offense.
“I see myself fitting really the same way Poppi plays,” Fowlkes said. “That slot, getting the ball in open space and just making plays.”
Bell has a type when it comes to wide receivers, and Fowlkes fits that mold. He’s a shorter, faster wideout who can play inside and outside. And he’s destined for that slot role in the offensive scheme, a weapon to be utilized in open space. He was ultra-productive as a junior at Good Counsel, leading the conference in receiving yards and touchdowns. And he’s playing even better as a senior.
247Sports rates Fowlkes as the 52nd-ranked wide receiver and 11th-ranked recruit from Maryland while On3 rates him as the 50th-ranked wide receiver and 11th-ranked recruit from Maryland. He holds a 5.5 Rivals Rating.
Fowlkes had a pretty good idea he would commit even before he arrived in Pittsburgh. 70/30, he said. He wanted to play in the Pitt offensive scheme but also saw firsthand the connection between the coaches and his future teammates. He wanted to be a part of that, too.
“It means a lot, the whole community really accepted me, even the commits who committed before this official visit,” Fowlkes said. “They really welcomed me with open arms and I’m just excited to be the next.”
