The No. 19 ranked Pitt Panthers had the opportunity to show other programs, high school recruits and college football voters just how good this 2024 team really is as they hosted Syracuse on ESPN.
Anyone that had any questions likely had them answered as Pitt put on a first half defensive performance that the Pittsburgh Steelers famed ‘Steel Curtain’ would’ve been proud of.
Three interception returns for touchdowns, along with 2 sacks and holding Syracuse to -7 yards rushing allowed Pitt to take a 31-0 lead into halftime.
Pitt’s defense recorded their 5th interception of the game in the 2nd Half, which led to an Eli Holstein TD pass.
The only negative in the second half was Holstein leaving the game with an injury.
Pitt is now 7-0 and will no doubt move up in the national rankings, following a 41-13 win over Syracuse.
Nate has 10 days to come up to speed.
Has Holstein been ruled out for SMU already?
No they said he’ll be fine for the game
I thought he would be fine. The commenter that I responded to made a comment about Yarnell having to be ready made me think he knew something we did. Glad Holstein is okay. Yarnell is a more than adequate back up.
