Pitt S Donovan McMillon Left Against SMU With Apparent Injury

Pitt played about as poorly in the first half as anyone could’ve expected against No. 20 SMU, and a second half comeback may have to take place without Donovan McMillon.

McMillon suffered an apparent lower-body injury in the second quarter, requiring assistance from the athletic training staff on the field. He was helped off the field, limping heavily, and taken straight to the locker room.

McMillon recorded three tackles (one solo) and a pass breakup in the first half.

He’s racked up 65 tackles (33 solo), an interception, five pass breakups and a forced fumble this season.

Pitt was gashed for 31 points in the first half, a season-high, and allowed 299 yards of total offense — including 135 yards on the ground.

If McMillon is unable to return in the second half, Javon McIntyre and P.J. O’Brien Jr., who didn’t have strong first halves, will be relied upon even more heavily. And Cruce Brookins could receive legitimate snaps at both safety spots.

Pitt is trailing 31-3 at the halftime break.

Never been more embarrassed to be a Pitt fan… this is absolutely horrible … I honestly wish they would just go home .. fold , take a year off and come back as a D2 program … there’s no words to the embarrassing horror show this game is…. All the coaches and players should spare us and quit
