This is not the type of news that Pitt wants to hear with National Signing Day just one month away.
On the heels of making an unofficial visit last weekend, four-star cornerback Elijah Dotson is taking an official visit to the Michigan Wolverines this weekend, Chad Simmons of On3 reported.

Michigan is also in heavy pursuit of Dotson’s high school teammate Bryce Underwood, the No. 1 quarterback and No. 2 overall prospect in the class of 2025, per Rivals. Currently, Underwood is committed to the LSU Tigers.
Both players are in Ann Arbor this weekend for Michigan’s huge matchup against No. 1 Oregon.
Pitt trying to fend off other programs for Dotson is nothing new as last month, the talented four-star received an offer from LSU, amongst others.
Following that offer from LSU, Pittsburgh Sports Now spoke with Dotson, who once again said despite the other interest, he was still committed to Pitt.
“My dad has been telling me that’s going to come even after you commit,” Dotson said. “They’re going to keep coming and coming, and it’s going to be a crazy season. Everything my dad has told me has been right. Personally, I’m not that surprised because I’m a talented player. I’ve always had the mindset that any offer I receive regardless of when I receive it, I consider it a blessing.”
“This is a business, so I have to remain open-minded, and you never know what’s going to happen with coaches on the staff, with teams and things of that nature. But I’m still committed, and everything is still great with Pitt.

Regardless of what is said and happens this weekend, it’s recruiting situation that appears to be one that will come down to the final days before it’s truly decided.
Dotson is the No. 6 overall prospect in the state of Michigan and a player with the skill set to play either safety or wide receiver in college. Pitt is recruiting Dotson to play cornerback, which was a major draw on the recruiting trail.
He’s as good as gone. Michigan and LSU have the full 20 million. Pitt has 6 million our boasters are a joke.
Let’s hope your wrong
When they start getting quoted saying “This is a business” they are gone. Translation: I’m going to the highest bidder.
Put the standard freshman required SAT score on the “ student-athletes” that would go a long ways to cleaning up this mess greed started!
Yeah good luck with that. Go watch Ivy League football if you want that. This is professional sports at this point. Sad part is Pitts run like the Pittsburgh Pirates not spending a nickel while our rivals are.
That’s why we hired a new A.D.. Things are changing for the better. Did you join Alliance 412 yet, or, are you just a complainer? Did we hire our new athletic director in time to keep Dotson, that not certain, but Pitt is headed in the right direction.
