Pitt was outcoached, outplayed and outmatched in a 48-25 loss to No. 20 SMU Saturday night at Gerald J. Ford Stadium in Dallas, Texas.
It was a brutal result for a Pitt squad that could’ve taken a step forward in the conference and nationally with a win, but it isn’t the end of the season — as bad as it seems right now.
However, the fan reaction isn’t good and deservedly so. Pitt fans made their voices heard on social media following the Panthers’ first loss of the season.
Yarnell should have replaced the Cow to srart..Holstein is not ready. Why Duzz loves these transfert over homegrown QBs is a mystery.
3 yrs in a row Duzz has the best QB relegated to the bench (and also his 2 best RBs) … can’t see the forest for the trees!!!!
Embarrassing
Well that was just ugly. Something is broken with the offense. Holstein is a good qb, but he’s a redshirt freshman, he’s going to have growing pains. But do you maybe give Yarnell the start next week with the hopes of getting Holstein’s head back around the following week. Yarnell is moving the ball when he’s in making better reads, but it’s against 2nd string in garbage time. Or just let Holstein roll and make the fix himself. In the long run Holstein is going to be good, but short term he’s struggling. Defense never got on the plane, there… Read more »
Time for the Defense LB’s to retire their “shark” moves. SMU humiliated them all night long with it. 🦈
Every year without fail. Pitt embarrasses the fans. They suck. I’m done with them
Lighten up Rusty, it’s one game.
Bye
Sharks? More like goldfish.
Maybe the missed tackles and blown assignments and overall awful play will put an end to their arrogance.
The whole “shark” thing is dumb when Ole Miss does it and even worse when Pitt stole it.
One train wreck of a game and some are ready to write this team and this season off. It was an embarrassing performance but it’s one game. SMU won last week but had six turnovers. It’s not the end of the world.
I still like this team and to be honest like this team more than the 2021 team. This is a real team, it’s not about any one or two people. They play together, selfless, they give everything they have, they’re fun to watch, and they’re 7-1 and ranked #23 heading into the last 4 games. I think with a preseason projection of 5.5 wins, any of us would have taken that. Still a lot to play for and so much they can accomplish. But they better have some tough discussions and be willing to make some tough decisions when it… Read more »
