Carlton “Bub” Carrington continues to rise up the NBA Rookie of the Year odds leaderboard, and is now as high as second on the list.
Carrington now has the fourth-lowest odds to win the award at +650, behind Zach Edey, Zaccharie Risacher, and his teammate, Alex Sarr.
Carrington is averaging the second-most points per game out of all rookies, at 10.3 PPG (second only to Edey’s 11.1). Carrington is shooting 44% from the field and 35% from three-point range, along with 93% from the free-throw line. He is also averaging 4.3 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game. His assist average leads all rookies as well as his minutes per game (29.2).

Carrington, the No. 14 overall pick in this past year’s NBA Draft by the Washington Wizards, opened at +3000 to win the NBA’s prestigious Rookie of the Year award. Now, his odds have skyrocketed due to his strong early performance in his career.
Carrington started 33 games for Pitt as a rookie, averaging 13.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game. The Baltimore, Maryland native shot 41% from the field and 32% from three-point range in his freshman campaign, and alongside Jaland Lowe and Ishmael Leggett, starred for the Panthers in the back court.
Carrington went No. 14 overall in the most recent NBA Draft, making his way from the Portland Trail Blazers to the Washington Wizards via trade. Carrington was the first player drafted in the first round from a Jeff-Capel-led Pitt team.
