3-Star Demari Clemons to visit Pitt.

When No. 18 Pitt welcomes Virginia to town on Saturday evening, the Panthers will be hosting a three-star 2026 recruit who has had a long-standing relationship with the program.

Demari Clemons — a 5-foot-10, 159-pound prospect from Washington High School in Massillon, Ohio — will be in attendance as the Panthers take on the Cavaliers at 8 p.m.

“Pitt has always been one of my top schools to attend,” Clemons told Pittsburgh Sports Now. “The coaches, players and culture is what sticks out for me. I love it.”

Clemons first caught the attention of the Pitt coaching staff when he attended a camp all the way back in 2022. Nearly a year later in April of 2023, Pitt became the third Power Four program to offer the young talent.

Clemons — a three-star according to Rivals, 247Sports and On3 — holds additional offers from Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State, Syracuse, West Virginia, Maryland, Louisville, UConn, Buffalo and Akron.

He originally built a strong relationship with tight ends coach Tim Salem before he went on to coach at Georgia Tech, Clemons says. Since then, he has furthered his relationship with secondary/cornerbacks coach Archie Collins and defensive line coach Tim Daoust.

Pitt is a school high on his list with multiple factors that appeal to him.

“What stands out to me is the culture and how they develop you on and off the field which prepares you for life after college,” he said “I can really see myself playing at Pitt, coming out the tunnel and leaving it all out there on the field and enjoying the game with my teammates.”

Clemons is a defensive back who plays with a physical tone and can play in multiple defensive coverages.

“My playing style is versatile. I can play man cover zone or whatever the team needs me. I can adjust on the fly and be a playmaker all over the field,” Clemons said.

On Saturday, Clemons is hoping to experience a full day of action around the program.

“Can’t wait to see some good ole hard-nosed football those guys play. Also can’t wait to learn more of the history of the university and town. I cannot wait to experience the atmosphere in Acrisure Stadium.”
