The WPIAL Recruiting Wraparound takes stock of the latest news in football recruiting within the WPIAL and City League.

The WPIAL Class of 2027 is brimming with Power Four talent as another prospect picked up an offer from an ACC school.

At receiver, Robinson racked up 13 receptions for 236 yards and a touchdown. Defensively, he recorded 12 tackles, seven pass breakups and an interception.

Robinson made a recent game day visit for Pitt-Syracuse and followed it up with a trip to Happy Valley for Penn State-Ohio State.

With Robinson landing a Power Four offer, there are 12 prospects in the 2027 cycle from the WPIAL with a power offer. Robinson’s teammate, four-star Penn State running back commit Kemon Spell, became the first player from the class to announce his commitment.

Nelson Becomes Second Plum Product to Commit to SFU

Nelson — a 6-foot-1, 190-pound prospect — announced his commitment to St. Francis (PA) this week, joining teammate Darian Slaughter to join the Red Flash in the 2025 class.

“When deciding my commitment I considered the interest that every other coach gave me,” Nelson told Pittsburgh Sports Now. “Saint Francis not only gave me a full scholarship but they also would text me every other day about school, football, or even life. Overall the connection with the coaches played a big role in my commitment.”

Nelson was recruited as a safety, but shined on both sides of the ball for Plum this season. He hauled in 35 receptions for 422 yards and four touchdowns, along with 253 rushing yards and three touchdowns. He even added six passes for 152 yards.

On the defensive side of the ball, Nelson recorded 44 total tackles, five tackles for loss, two interceptions, a fumble recovery and a sack.
