Pitt hosted a top-100 recruit in the 2026 class Saturday night and not long after the visit, the four-star running back prospect added an offer from the Panthers.

Favour Akih — a 6-foot, 190-pound recruit from Rutherford B. Hayes High School in Delaware, Ohio — received an offer from Pitt linebackers coach Ryan Manalac while at Acrisure Stadium for Pitt-Virginia Saturday night.

The offer comes over a year after Akih camped at Pitt during the summer.

“This offer meant a lot to me,” Akih told Pittsburgh Sports Now. “Going to the Pitt camp last summer and not performing well is what set the fire to my season, so I’m happy to see my hard work has paid off, and I am blessed and honored to be in this position.”

Akih was pleased all around with the night game experience he received on the North Shore.

“I enjoyed watching the game, they didn’t shove TV timeouts in your face, so I actually enjoyed it a lot more. It was also really cool to see the fire works after every touchdown.”

Pitt football’s team culture stands is one of the top factors that stands out to Akih.

“They’re just a bunch of dogs,” he said. “Watching them celebrate each others success after making big plays just shows their brotherhood and the bond they all have built together.”

On3 rates Akih as 91 four-star recruit, while listing as the 76th recruit in the 2026 class, seventh-best running back and the fifth-ranked player in Ohio.

“I run the ball based off reaction, learning how my o-line blocks and their tendencies really helps slow the game down. I like to embrace contact and shed through tackles, and once I’m at the second level there’s no catching me,” Akih said about his play style.

Along with Pitt, Akih holds offers from Penn State, Iowa State, Michigan State, and Toledo.

After his first game day visit, Akih ranks the Panthers highly amongst the schools that are recruiting him

“Pitt is definitely in my top 3 as of right now.”
