On Monday night, Pitt will take on its third opponent of the season when Gardner-Webb takes the floor against the Panthers.
Pitt (2-0) is looking for a third-straight win to start the season.
Let’s take a look at the preview for the game.
GARDNER-WEBB
Head Coach: Jeremy Luther (1st Season)
Luther spent some time in Western PA during his playing career. He began his collegiate career playing two seasons for Robert Morris before transferring out.
His squad has a new-look this year, as the top four players from last year’s team are gone. So far, Darryl Simmons II (5’11 guard) and Anthony Selden (6’6 guard) have been the two best scorers for the Bulldogs. Selden returns to GWU after leaving to play for Rice for a year. Back in 2020, Selden was a young player for Gardner-Webb, playing against Pitt. He posted nine points in a 67-50 win by Pitt.
