PITTSBURGH — On Friday night, Pitt will take on West Virginia in this year’s edition of the Backyard Brawl.
Before the game, Pitt’s head coach Jeff Capel, as well as guard Ishmael Leggett and wing Zack Austin, spoke with the media.
Capel’s team sits at 3-0 so far on the year with wins over Radford, Murray State, and Gardner-Webb. Leggett has been leading Pitt in scoring so far this season at 19.7 points per game. He is also leading the team in rebounding, with an average of eight per contest. Behind him, Jaland Lowe is averaging 16 points per game.
As a team, Pitt is shooting 35% from three-point range, with six players having hit at least three threes so far: Leggett, Lowe, Damian Dunn, Guillermo Diaz Graham, Zack Austin, and Brandin “Beebah” Cummings.
