Pitt’s next game will come against the LSU Tigers in White Sulpher Springs, West Virginia at The Greenbrier Tip Off.
Both the Panthers and the Tigers are currently undefeated on the year, with Pitt sitting at 5-0 and LSU at 4-0. On Tuesday night, the Tigers survived a tight game against Charleston Southern, a team that had previously lost to VMI, who Pitt beat by 40+ nights ago at the Petersen Events Center.
LSU won the game 77-68, pulling away in the final minutes of the game after a valiant effort from Charleston Southern into the late second half.
Vyctorius Miller had a team-high 19 points in LSU’s win, shooting 9 for 14 from the field. In addition, Jordan Sears posted a 15-point stat line with several big buckets late in the game. Senior guard DJI Bailey had 11 points and three rebounds in the win as well.
Similar to Pitt, LSU has won its lone game against a high-major opponent so far this year. The Tigers took down Kansas State by 11 points behind big games from Cam Carter, Sears, and Miller. LSU was predicted to finish 14th in the SEC preseason poll this year, landing no players on the preseason All-Conference teams. The Tigers are ranked No. 48 in Ken Pomeroy’s rankings, while Pitt is currently ranked No. 16.
LSU and Pitt will tip off at 2:30 p.m. est. on Friday afternoon at The Greenbrier.
The winner of Pitt Vs. LSU will take on the winner of UCF and Wisconsin on Sunday night at 5:30 p.m. est. The losers of both games will play at 3 p.m. est. on Sunday.
Vyctorious hahahahaha
This early in the season, it could be hard to pick a winner based on performance against common indirect opponents. LSU has played 9 guys over 15 mpg. Still finding a rotation or is it a deep squad ? Pretty good FG%, not overly tall but same rebounding stats as Pitt. Either way, should be a good match-up to see where we are. H2P
