The top-ranked center in the class of 2026 is headed to the ACC.
Moustapha Diop, a five-star, 6-foot-10 forward prospect, committed to Georgia Tech. He is ranked as the No. 12 player in the class of 2026 by 247 Sports, and the No. 1 center in the country by On3. He joins the Yellow Jackets program that has brought in two-straight top-30 recruiting classes under new head coach Damon Stoudamire, who replaced Josh Pastner in his role.
Georgia Tech was picked to finish 12th out of the league’s 18 teams in the ACC preseason poll this year. The program has not had a winning season since 2020-21, when it went to the NCAA Tournament under Pastner for the first and only time in his tenure.
Stoudamire’s group is currently 2-2 on the season, with losses to North Florida and Georgia, and wins over West Georgia and Texas Southern. The Yellow Jackets have three players averaging at least 14 points per game so far this season: Baye Ndongo, Javian McCollum, and Lance Terry. Ndongo was a preseason All-ACC Second Team member.
Pitt will take on the Yellow Jackets on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m. at the Petersen Events Center.
