PITT’S OUTLOOK

The Panthers are looking for win No. 6 on the year in the opening game of The Greenbrier Tip Off. Pitt traveled down to the famous resort on Wednesday, and has had several days to prepare since its last game, on Monday, which was a win over VMI.

The Panthers beat VMI 93-48 behind six double-digit scorers. Jaland Lowe turned in a phenomenal performance in the win, dropping the second triple double at Pitt since 1998. In addition, Damian Dunn, Ishmael Leggett, Guillermo Diaz Graham, Cam Corhen, and Jorge Diaz Graham all scored in double figures in the lopsided victory.

LSU TIGERS (4-0)

LSU finished last season 17-16 and 9-9 in SEC play in year two under head coach Matt McMahon. In McMahon’s first season at the helm, LSU struggled to the tune of 14-19 overall (2-16 SEC).

LSU is led by a trio of senior guards: Cam Carter, Jordan Sears, and Dji Bailey. In addition, the Tigers have solid size inside with 6-foot-10 Jalen Reed averaging 10 points and 6 rebounds per game this year. Alongside Reed, the front court includes 6-foot-9 veteran Daimion Collins and 6-foot-8 freshman Corey Chest, among others.

Highly-touted freshman wing Vyctorius Miller is another player to watch that has found success this year so far.
