Duquesne football clinched at least a share of the NEC title, doubling up Wagner, 42-21, as Darius Perrantes threw for six touchdowns.

The victory was the eighth in a row for the 20th-ranked Dukes after starting the season 0-2.

Saturday afternoon’s contest at Central Connecticut State will determine whether the Dukes win the title outright. CCSU bested Robert Morris in double overtime, which had the result gone the other way, Duquesne would have secured its second consecutive outright conference title.

Tedy Afful also had a breakout performance against Wagner with his 208 receiving yards.

Duquesne left Thursday morning for this pivotal game and PSN’s Zachary Weiss spoke both to Perrantes as well as coach Jerry Schmitt.
