Pitt basketball guard Ishmael Leggett earned all-tournament team honors at The Greenbrier Tip Off after two games in which he filled up the stat sheet.
Leggett and the Panthers finished 1-1 on the weekend, beating LSU on Friday night and falling to Wisconsin by six in an intense battle on Sunday night. The veteran guard continued his hot start to the season, playing 78 out of 80 possible minutes in Pitt’s two games.
Against LSU, Leggett played all 40 minutes, going 6 for 14 from the field and 8 for 9 from the free-throw line in the Panthers’ win. He also added six rebounds and five steals in the game against the Tigers.
Then, against Wisconsin on Sunday, Leggett played 38 minutes, going 6 for 15 from the field and 0-4 from three-point range. He hit five of his six free-throw attempts in the narrow loss. Leggett led the team in rebounds with eight, and also dished out three assists. He did not turn the ball over once against the Badgers. That was his first game of the season without a single turnover.

The Panthers (6-1) will now travel to Columbus, Ohio this week to take on the Buckeyes of Ohio State on Friday at 2:30 p.m. est.
Leggett is now averaging 18 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game on the year. He is shooting 57% from the field and 35% from three-point range so far for the Panthers, alongside the team’s other talented guards Jaland Lowe, Damian Dunn, and Brandin “Beebah” Cummings.
