Twitter Reaction to Fifth Straight Pitt Loss to End the Season

Published

on

Pitt football head coach Pat Narduzzi.

Pitt dropped its regular season finale against Boston College, 34-23, and with it, its fifth straight loss to end the regular season.

Pitt concluded its 2024 season with a 7-5 (3-5 ACC) record, and while it’s an improvement record-wise from last season, it’s hard to sugarcoat five straight losses to end the season — especially after a 7-0 start for the first time since 1981.

Pitt fans took to social media to voice their displeasure with the loss and the uncertainty with the direction of the program heading forward.

Stubborn to continue to play man in secondary when we dont have the talent to either cover or get to the QB. Bad combo. Horrible way to end season.
Who wants this clown show in their bowl game??

Firing Narduzzi does nothing but put Pitt in a bigger financial hole than it’s already in. He’s signed through 2030, his seat is not going to even get warm for 3-4 more years. They just don’t have the donor base or money in the athletic department to absorb the hit if they fire him. Tonight was just nothing more than same old Pitt. I don’t think anyone expected them to run the table and get into the playoffs. But after a 7-0 start I don’t think anyone thought they would collapse like this either. And worse because of NIL, the… Read more »

Narduzzi has been given plenty of time. I believe he is the third-nighest paid coach in the conference.

Pitt had one of the better attendance figures in the ACC this season.

The support is there. But at some point the guy has to win the games he’s supposed to win and not to get blown out in every loss.

O’Brien looks like a drunk you would see passed out on a stool in some dive bar. Oh yeah and his team plays dirty.

Narduzzi is not a competent coach. Pitt has only succeeded at times in spite of him. His contract extension was the dumbest move by an AD in a long time. I’m done until Narduzzi is gone.

Narduzzi has had TWO seasons in TEN years with more than 8 wins. His pride, ego, and mouth will never change. He is who and what he is, a 7 win on average coach. Pitt can be relevant but it’s up to the standards they’re willing to accept and create. Mack Brown is a legendary coach and great man and got fired for not getting it done. I’m sure Pitt can find people willing to contribute to the buyout money. Narduzzi does create a family like culture and that’s great and all but we’re not going out to dinner at… Read more »
