James’ Duquesne offer came months after Duquesne announced that it had promoted Dru Joyce III to associate head coach. Joyce, now Duquesne’s head coach, played point guard for Saint Vincent Saint Mary (OH) back from 1999-2001, playing alongside LeBron under the team’s head coach Keith Dambrot. Years later, Joyce played his college ball at Akron, and was once again playing under Dambrot. The two then collaborated on the Dukes’ staff, and now, Joyce has the keys to the program.

Duquesne Becomes First D-1 Offer for Bryce James, Son of LeBron James

James is a three-star shooting guard according to 247 Sports’ Composite Rankings. The 6-foot-4 prospect is ranked as the No. 258 player in the class of 2025 by 247 and the No. 46 shooting guard in the country. He plays his high-school ball for Sierra Canyon in California, where his older brother, LeBron Jr. (a.k.a. Bronny), went.

Bronny now plays in the NBA alongside his father, while also spending time with the Los Angeles Lakers’ G League Affiliate.
