One of the best young athletes in the WPIAL is now hearing consistently from high-major schools.
Brandon Martin Jr., a 6-foot-6 wing out of Greensburg Central Catholic, told Pittsburgh Sports Now that he has recently heard from Ohio State, West Virginia, and other schools in his recruitment.
“I’m a 6’6” combo guard, 15 years old,” Martin told PSN over the summer. “[I] can use both hands effectively, have a nice mid range game and play above the rim. On defense I am a pest, getting blocks off the backboard, blocking shots in general, getting steals, using my length. The thing that sticks out most about my game is my ability to play above the rim. There has been multiple times where I dunked on people.”
He received his first offer from Marshall earlier this year. Martin visited Duquesne on Nov. 4 for its opening game against Lipscomb. Martin has also heard from Kent State, Youngstown State, and Akron, among other schools. His recruitment includes Division One programs from the region at the moment, and should expand into a national recruitment. He is a member of the class of 2027.
