Pitt RB Montravius Lloyd Entering the Transfer Portal

The Pitt running back depth chart got a bit thinner today with some roster news.

Rodney Hammond and Montravious Lloyd both announced their intentions to enter the NCAA transfer portal.

Lloyd (6-foot, 205 pounds) is a redshirt freshman from Lakewood High in St. Petersburg, Fla. and was a member of Pitt’s class of 2023. In that class, Pitt signed two running backs, Lloyd and TJ Harvison (Bowdon, Ga.) and both are no longer on the Pitt roster.

In two seasons with the Panthers, Lloyd recorded five carries for 20 yards and a reception for seven yards, both coming last season.

With the departure of Lloyd, Hammond and Daniel Carter to graduation, Pitt’s current running back depth chart consists of just Desmond Reid, Juelz Goff and Derrick Davis Jr.

Pitt has two running back commits in the class of 2025 in three-star Synkwan Smith and three-star Ja’Kyrian Turner, but the coaching staff will certainly look to the transfer portal to supplement the room.
