Pitt has a need at wide receiver entering the offseason, and a recent portal entrant has expressed interest in the Panthers.
Troy Stellato — a 6-foot-1, 190-pound wideout from Fort Lauderdale, Fla. — entered the transfer portal Tuesday afternoon and told Rivals that he has interest in Florida, Louisville and Pitt.

Stellato was a four-star recruit in the class of 2021 out of Cardinal Gibbons in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He committed to Clemson over just about every major program in the country, including an offer from Pitt.
He’s spent four seasons at Clemson, and while he fought injuries over his first two seasons, he emerged as a solid option over the last two seasons. He hauled in 63 receptions for 585 yards (9.3 yards per reception) and two touchdowns.
Stellato turned 34 targets into 25 receptions for 264 yards (10.6 yards per reception) and a touchdown last season. He’s primarily a slot receiver (95% of his snaps) and averaged 1.43 yards per route run with an average depth of target of 7.6 yards.
Perhaps his greatest strength was his hands, not dropping a single of his 34 targets, which Pitt fans will like to see.
He worked primarily underneath with all but four of his catches last season coming short of the sticks, so he’s somewhat of a safety blanket.
Stellato played just a handful of snaps against Pitt this season, recording a catch for 11 yards, before he left with an injury — one that ended his season. If anything has held Stellato back during his college career, it’s injuries.
Pitt is set to lose Konata Mumpfield next season, which opens a massive hole at the top of the lineup, and the unit as a whole could be set for a revamp. It’s a unit that struggled down the second half of the season.
Kenny Johnson is the leading receiver set to return, with Poppi Williams, Censere Lee and Daejon Reynolds also retaining eligibility. Pitt signed a trio of wide receivers in the class of 2025 — Tony Kinsler, Bryce Yates and Cameron Sapp.
It remains to be seen whether the Pitt coaching staff will return serious interest, but wide receiver is certainly a position to watch in the portal.
