Pitt CB Jaremiah Anglin Jr. No Longer With the Team

Jaremiah Anglin Jr. spent the 2024 season at Pitt, but that will be the extent of his time with the Panthers.

Anglin — a 6-foot-1, 185-pound defensive back from Lake Wales, Fla. — transferred to Pitt from Kentucky during the spring but is no longer listed on the roster. A source told PSN that he’s no longer on the team and will likely look for a new opportunity elsewhere.

Anglin initially committed to Kentucky as a four-star recruit in the class of 2023 over a list of finalists that included Alabama, Florida State, Jackson State, Penn State, Pitt, UCF and Tennessee.

He didn’t see any action during his true freshman campaign after tearing his ACL, and after transferring to Pitt, he didn’t see any action this season.

It’s unfortunate that the situation didn’t work out for both sides (a high-upside cornerback getting a fresh start on a team that needed cornerback depth), but that’s just college football. Pitt and Anglin will move on.

Pitt is returning its entire starting trio of cornerbacks (Ryland Gandy, Rashad Battle and Tamon Lynum), and Tamarion Crumpley, Shadarian Harrison and Nigel Maynard are in line for an increase in snaps next season.

The Panthers signed two cornerbacks in the class of 2025 (three-star Shawn Lee Jr. and four-star Mason Alexander). And the Panthers could still look to the transfer portal.
