Pitt has officially lost its first wide receiver to the transfer portal this offseason.
Daejon Reynolds — a 6-foot-2, 210-pound redshirt senior wide receiver from Springfield, Ill. — announced his intentions to enter the transfer portal as a graduate transfer Thursday afternoon after two seasons with the program.
Reynolds initially transferred to Pitt before the 2023 season, following two seasons with the Florida Gators, and he saw his playing time cut this season.
Reynolds played 285 snaps this season, down from 347 in 2023, and he hauled in 15 of 28 targets for 189 yards (12.6 yards per reception) and a touchdown.
In two seasons at Pitt, he recorded 43 receptions for 505 yards (11.7 yards per reception) and a touchdown — a pivotal 40-yard touchdown in the Backyard Brawl this season.
Pitt is losing Konata Mumpfield to the NFL, and with Reynolds entering the portal, it creates another opening in the wide receiving corps. Kenny Johnson is set to return, as are Censere Lee and Poppi Williams, but the Pitt coaching staff will very likely look to add from the portal.
Pitt added three wide receivers from the class of 2025 in three-stars Tony Kinsler, Bryce Yates and Cameron Sapp.
