Pitt defensive coaches talk Class of 2025 signees.

PITTSBURGH — Pitt football signed 21 players in the Class of 2025 on Wednesday, including nine defensive prospects.

Assistant head coach and secondary coach Cory Sanders highlighted the two safety prospects the Panthers signed in Haymarket, Va. native Cole Woodson and Ocee, Fla. native Joshua Guerrier.

Cornerbacks coach Archie Collins went into depth about the two cornerback signees in four-star Mason Alexander from Fishers, Ind. and in-state product Shawn Lee Jr.

Ryan Manalac, Pitt’s linebacker coach, detailed the two linebacker prospects Pitt signed with Emmanuel Taylor from Green Run High School in Virginia and Justin Thompson from Good Counsel High School in Maryland.

On the defensive line, coach Tim Daoust described the three defensive line signees in edge rushers Denim Cook from Bishop Hartley High School in Ohio and Julian Anderson from Orlando, Fla, along with defensive tackle Trevor Sommers from St. Thomas Aquinas in Florida.
