Three Pitt Panthers have landed on the AP All-ACC squad — after five landed on the conference media’s All-ACC squad last week.

Desmond Reid and Kyle Louis earned first-team honors at all-purpose back and linebacker, respectively, and Rasheem Biles earned second-team honors at linebacker. Neither Reid nor Biles earned unanimous honors, but it’s a well-deserved honor for the stellar trio.

There appears to be a good chance that Reid and Louis, and maybe Biles, will earn All-American honors later this year.

Reid was one of the most dynamic players in college football this season, racking up 797 rushing yards (5.3 yards per carry) and 564 receiving yards (12 yards per reception) in just 10 games. He was the heartbeat of the Pitt offense this season.

And Louis was the heartbeat of the Pitt defense, reaching heights unseen by any defensive players in college football. He recorded 96 tackles (41 solo), 16 tackles for loss, seven sacks, four interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), a forced fumble and two pass breakups.

Biles was a rocket out of the defensive secondary, recording 77 tackles (41 solo), 15 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, an interception returned for a touchdown, a forced fumble and recovery and seven pass breakups.

Pitt didn’t finish the way it wanted to this season, dropping five games in a row, but there’s still a bowl game against Toledo. The GameAbove Sports Bowl is the last chance to hit the field this season, but all three are slated to return next season.

Pitt and Toledo are scheduled to kick off at Ford Field on Dec. 26 at 2 p.m.
