Pitt has looked into Miami (Oh.) pretty heavily, extending offers to a handful of former RedHawks, and the latest is another All-MAC wide receiver.
Pitt extended an offer to Javon Tracy — a 6-foot, 205-pound redshirt sophomore from Indianapolis, Ind. — on Monday, one of the first schools to do so. He’s received offers from Florida State, Boston College, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Iowa State, Oklahoma State, Michigan State, Minnesota, Pitt, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

His teammate and fellow wideout Reggie Virgil received an offer from the Pitt coaching staff, too. And it’s not a surprise the pair have been targeted.

Tracy was a low three-star recruit out of Decatur Central in the class of 2022, and he turned his opportunity into a Power Four opportunity.
He led the RedHawks with 57 receptions for 818 yards (14.4 yards per reception) and seven touchdowns — and All-MAC honors — this season. He racked up 79 receptions for 1,166 yards (14.8 yards per reception) and nine touchdowns in three seasons at Miami (Oh.).
According to PFF, Tracy lined up in the slot on 56.7% of his 419 passing snaps this season. He was very effective in racking up yards after the catch (415 yards after catch at 7.3 yards after catch per reception) and averaged 2.02 yards per route run with an average depth of target of 10 yards.
He did most of his work underneath (turning 51 targets within 10 yards of the sticks in 38 receptions for 463 yards and a touchdown), but he also hauled in four passes of at least 20 yards for 168 yards and three touchdowns.
Pitt is losing lead wideout Konata Mumpfield next season, and while Kenny Johnson is slated to return (offering a potential leading wideout), it’s a wide receiving corps that got worse as the season progressed.
Johnson, Poppi Williams, Censere Lee, Zion Fowler-El and Tyreek Robinson are the wideouts in line for playing time right now, but it’s clear the coaching staff will look to add to the room.
